IPE LAPACHO
Latin name: Tabeuia. Ipe Lapacho is a very hard wood, at least three times harder than oak. It is wear-resistant and very durable, and very suitable for the most busy areas and outdoor pavers. Ipe wood is resistant to both burning and rotting. The service life of Ipe is over 40 years without maintenance, even in direct contact with the ground. Ipe tree grows in Central and South America. It reaches a height of up to 50 m and a diameter of up to 170 cm. Ipe is dark olive-brown in color, often with attractive light or dark lines, has a fine structure and contains a large amount of oil. And air-dried is heavier than water. Ipe wood does not crack, so the surface remains smooth.
